Most industrial electro-hydraulic servo systems are single-input, single-output systems that can be approximated as linear time-invariant systems; therefore, frequency-domain methods are generally used for their design. The basic steps of the design process are as follows:
(1) Define the design requirements;
(2) Formulate the control scheme and draw the system schematic;
(3) Perform static calculations to determine power component parameters and select system components;
(4) Perform dynamic calculations to determine the dynamic characteristics of the components and simulate system stability and response characteristics;
(5) Select the hydraulic power source.
